Before we know it, here we are in a new month---October! The brisk air calls for sweatshirts and sweaters, gathering hickory nuts before the squirrels, and watching the acorns raining down from our oak-filled woodland. We just spent an afternoon watching a squirrel make many, many trips gathering leaves from the high boughs of the trees, and scurring back to his home in a hollow tree, where his mate awaited him, sticking her nose out the opening. They know winter is on its way, and they are making provisions. I am amazed as I watch them jump from one tree limb to another, 50 plus feet above the forest floor. It is as though they have their own "high"way up there in the air, and know exactly where they are going and how to get home.
I am still working on the mechanics of this blogging, and hope to be able to make this a more appealing site to the eye, when I figure it out.
I am on my way to our big "city" to run a few errands, and will share the next journey with you soon.
Till Later, Hope you are enjoying each autumn day.
