I took advantage of a perfect Autumn day, and worked in the yard getting a few things in order before Winter sneaks up on me. We always have many sticks to pick up, and today we cut up some more trees and large limbs which had fallen. Lots of good firewood in case we need it this winter. I walked back by our pond and checked on the young persimmon trees which we transplanted from my Mom and Dad's home. There are 4 of them, and they are growing, and have already begun to lose their leaves this fall. One of our "to-do-list" items is to move a couple of them to another location. The sumac is so lovely, as it is one of the first plants to change colors. I love to walk through the woods and see all the beautiful surprises nature has prepared for my senses. The sights, smells and sounds of the woodland always amaze me with how intricate our world is. God surely is a magnificent Creator. It is up to us to recognize and take time to appreciate what is all around us.
My bittersweet has finally started having berries on it, so I will attempt to attach a photo. I think the plant is about 6 years old, and just taking off. Enjoy!
