Very Beautiful Vermont!
We have been discovering Vermont today. Every place you turn is just as you would imagine, beautifully painted in autumn colors, and so picturesque. We have talked with several of the residents, and all have been extraordinarily friendly. We began our day at Annie's Book Spot, and I found some nice postcards, one of which, was an old 1881 Barn, and before I knew it we had driven down a country road, and there was the barn from my postcard. We talked with the couple who own Hathaway Farm and got to take a few pictures. They have a corn maze and make maple syrup. I took some pictures of their sweet dog, "Jack" and became friends with their cat, who came over to have his picture taken in the pumpkins with me.
We then went to a couple yard sales, and met more interesting people to talk with. We stopped at quaint Camera Repair Shop, and found a couple who shear sheep and raise Border Collies. They had 3 in their shop, and they reminded us of "Susie", so attentive and loving.
There were Victorian homes, lots of maples dressed in primary colors, mountain ash with pretty red berries, and many pink hydrangeas still in bloom. We stopped by Lake Dunlap and caught the reflections of the trees and cottages in the looking glass water.
We had lunch at Cafe Provence, some wonderful quiche and salad, then rounded the corner to discover a waterfall behind the Watershed Tavern in Brandon, VT. Everywhere one looks there is wonderful surprise and photo opportunity.
We retired for the evening in South Burlington, and had a nice grilled salmon salad at the LakeView Restaurant. Burlington, Vt sits on the bank of Lake Champlain, which is part of our planned journey tomorrow. Hope you can join us for more beautiful sites as we really enjoy New England.

Hi Virginia, Your blog was forwarded to me. It was good to see that you are doing well and enjoying our part of the world. We love the rural countryside and spend as much time as we can in our little mountain cabin but life does get in the way. Say hello to your family and enjoy your trip.
