Awaiting Spring

Oh the daffodils are soon to bloom! And the seasons are preparing to change. The leaves that grew last year and fell in the fall are being moved by the amazing new life of the bulbs. I always look forward to the color and seeing the cold weather leave.

I spied this little crocus in our yard as I walked to the mailbox last week. My heart leaped with excitement. The beauty of a flower springing from the earth after the cold winter months and seasons of snow is a joy to behold.

On Sunday afternoon we drove to Carlyle Lake and watched the seagulls fishing in the windy waves. If you look carefully you will see that one was a great "fisher-bird" and caught his next meal.

We then drove on around to the West Access Marina and looking out over the Lake we saw LOTS of white pelicans. It was super windy and although, I used a tripod, it was difficult shooting conditions. I got a few shots before our camera decided it was "tired" and ready for a break. Yes, to my sad dismay, our camera quit working. We are having it checked out by Pentax. It will be gone for 4-8 weeks, and in the meanwhile, we will be using our Olympus. We are praying that it is repairable and not too expensive. I sure will miss it while it is gone, but our journey continues.

We have some wren houses to hang and have already seen the bluebirds checking our the houses. Our geese are squawking for territory of their favorite nesting site, and we anxiously await all the new life Spring brings with it.

The daffodils look cute peeping above the leaves. Today I was in our entrance way where I have a bunch of our plants and noticed the Easter cactus with blooms already.Looks like it is going to be full bloom by the end of the month and Easter is the 12th April I believe. It blooms on it's own schedule :-) a couple times a year. Easter & Xmas. Did you get any or Mom's purple Iris's that were so beautiful beside the old swing set? W & D SCC Fl.

What beautiful pictures you find to capture with your camera!! I usually carry my camera with me, but lately I have not and have missed out on several good photo shots.. Keep up the good work...I always enjoy your "journey".
